“The real wonder?”
I remember quote of M.C.Escher, “He who wonders discovers that this in itself is wonder.”Wonder in itself is a great word (some quick meanings,
· Noun: something that causes feelings of wonder (Example: "The wonders of modern science")
· Noun: the feeling aroused by something strange and surprising
· Noun: a state in which you want to learn more about something
· Verb: have a wish or desire to know something (Example: "He wondered who had built this beautiful church")
· Verb: place in doubt or express doubtful speculation (Example: "I wonder whether this was the right thing to do")
· Verb: be amazed at)
Recently I received a picture with few touching lines. It may have been read by many but thought of writing as I liked them.
The lines were: “A group of students were asked to list what they thought are the “seven wonders of the world.” Though there were disagreements following received the max votes: Egypt’s great pyramids, Grand Canyon, Panama Canal, empire state building, Taj Mahal, St. Peter’s basilica, China’s great wall. (For those interested to know about seven wonders ,chk out the link http://www.123world.com/wonders/ not so exciting but yes can be visited once)
While collecting the votes the teacher noticed that one girl has not finished the paper yet. So she asked the girl if she had trouble with her list. The girl replied “Yes, a little. I could not make up my mind as there are so many.”
The teacher asked “Tell us what you have, may be we can help.” The girl read “I think “seven wonders of world” are:
1) to see 2) to hear 3) to touch 4) to feel 5) to taste 6) to laugh ,and 7) to love.
The room was quiet listening to this.”
The things we take as ordinary & simple and that we take for granted are simply wondrous. It’s really true but how many of us really understand the worth of it is a big question. Do we really feel great enjoying these wonders? Have we not broken the hearts of someone who love us? The questions need to be answered only by us…….
